Freeman’s | Hindman Names New VP, Senior Specialist for Jewelry & Watches
Alexis Vourvoulis, who most recently worked at Tiffany & Co., brings more than two decades of jewelry experience to her new role.

Vourvoulis brings more than two decades of experience in high jewelry, global auctions, and luxury retail to the auction house.
As vice president and senior specialist, Freeman’s | Hindman said she will support the continued growth of the jewelry department, while continuing the firm’s commitment to a client-focused approach to sales and curation.
She also will work to elevate the jewelry department’s profile.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alexis Vourvoulis to the team as we continue to expand in New York and the Northeast. She brings extensive knowledge in jewelry and watches, as well as a high-touch approach to client service,” said April Matteini, senior vice president and head of the auction house’s jewelry department.
Most recently, Vourvoulis served as the high jewelry team manager at Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store in New York, The Landmark.
There, she led client development, team training, and storytelling strategies that brought Tiffany & Co.’s heritage and craftsmanship to life, said the auction house.
Previously, Vourvoulis held senior positions at Phillips and Bonhams, where she specialized in antique, estate, and signed high jewelry and worked closely with private clients, attorneys, and institutions as an expert appraiser.
“Jewelry is one of the most personal forms of art: it carries memory, emotion, and identity in a way few objects can. Joining Freeman’s represents an exciting new chapter—one that allows me to merge scholarship, storytelling, and market insight withing a team that values expertise and genuine connection,” said Vourvoulis.
“I’m passionate about helping private clients both sell and acquire exceptional pieces, guiding them through the process with transparency and appreciation for the story behind every jewel.”
Vourvoulis also taught at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, where she was a professor of gems and jewelry for the Master’s in Art Business program.
Earlier in her career, she founded the Bijoux Society in Paris, the first private tour company devoted to the history of jewelry, said the auction house. The tour offers bespoke experiences in collaboration with the Place Vendôme and museums.
Vourvoulis holds a Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America and studied jewelry arts and techniques at the Haute École de Joaillerie in Paris.
