AGA to Host ‘Diamonds From Mine to Market’ Education Conference
The one-day virtual event will feature speakers from De Beers, GIA, and Gemworld International.

“Diamonds from Mine to Market” will be held online on Tuesday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to noon PDT.
The virtual conference will feature speakers from De Beers, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and Gemworld International.
Pamela Cook-Ellemers, principal mineral resource manager at De Beers Group, will discuss the current diamond mining and recovery practices at Gahcho Kué mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
She will share insight into how the plant operates and how it manages large special crystals.
James Conant and Amanda Hawkes from the cut grade research team at GIA will explore the latest developments in fancy shape cut grading.
Stuart Robertson, president of Gemworld International, will talk about the growing role of branding in the diamond market.
The goal of the conference is to give participants a deeper understanding of how innovation and expertise are shaping a diamond’s journey from mine to market, said AGA.
“This is an exciting opportunity to deliver current, insightful, and objective gemological education,” said AGA President Teri Brossmer.
“AGA is proud to offer a platform that brings together industry leaders and delivers value to our members and the global gemological community.”
Registration is open to everyone, including industry professionals, students, and interested attendees.
