Peek Inside David Yurman’s New Miami Flagship Store
Located in Miami’s Design District, the 4,000-square-foot store is an homage to David and Sybil Yurman’s artistic roots.

David Yurman President and Chief Creative Officer Evan Yurman oversaw the store’s design, working with Italian architect Andrea Tognon and Consulting Creative Director Bernadette Blanc.
“As a brand founded by two artists, this space reflects our family legacy and shared vision to create beautiful things that inspire us, whether that be our product, store experience, or design,” Yurman said.
Created as a one-off concept store, the drama starts at the door.
The store’s stone façade was coated with a metallic spray to make it look like precious metal, and the name “David Yurman” extrudes from the store’s front, an effect that creates “an incredible monolithic vision and presence on the street,” Tognon said.
Inside, the store is crafted in wood and stone, creating an atmosphere that is luxurious and welcoming at the same time.
There is a stepped wall made using vertically cut pieces of granite moving in a curve, much like a necklace.
There also are subtle nods to Cable, the motif that is the foundation of the brand, born in 1982 when David Yurman, a sculptor by training, twisted gold wire into the first Cable design.
The sculpted handrail at the store’s entrance was designed to look like Cable, as was as the circular vitrine underneath the staircase.

Upstairs on the second floor is a private salon featuring men’s and women’s jewelry as well as the brand’s high jewelry, mixed in with some of David Yurman’s personal artwork and private objects.
The Miami flagship also will feature styles that are exclusive to the boutique and inspired by the southern Florida city’s “magnetic atmosphere, landscapes, and tropical sunsets,” pieces set with hot pink, neon green, cobalt blue and fire orange gemstones.
“The retail world is constantly rethinking itself,” Tognon said.
“As we collaborated with Evan Yurman on this project, our main goal was innovation coexisting with the brand’s rich heritage. Working together, we were able to design a [store] in which new and existing consumers can feel comfortable exploring.”
The store had its soft opening on March 20. The grand opening is today.
Located at 178 N.E. 139th St., the David Yurman Miami flagship is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
