The Original Miami Beach Antique Show Panel to Feature Fred Savage
The actor and watch enthusiast will be part of the show’s education lineup.

The trade show will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center from Jan. 9-13, 2025, showcasing antiques, jewelry, timepieces, and luxury collectibles.
The 2025 show will include more than 600 dealers from more than 30 countries and an expanded lineup of educational events.
“This year’s show continues the tradition of bringing together an international community of passionate collectors, providing opportunities to connect with exhibitors and participate in immersive educational experiences,” said OMBAS.
Its new educational programming, held Jan. 10-11, will feature industry experts, including actor and watch enthusiast Fred Savage of Timepiece Grading and The Adventurine founder and author Marion Fasel.
The sessions will begin on Friday, Jan. 10, starting with “What to Look for When Buying Antique Jewelry” at 1 p.m.
Jewelry historian, author, and founder of Gemolithos, Ionnis Alexandris, will lead a session on purchasing antique jewelry.
Focusing on pieces from 1800 to 1939, Alexandris will share practical advice on how to build an antique jewelry collection.
“Timeless Traditions: The Legacy and Future of the Horological Society of New York” will follow at 3 p.m., led by Carolina Navarro, deputy director of the Horological Society of New York (HSNY).
She will share the history of HSNY, which is said to be the oldest watchmaking guild in America, focusing on its historical impact, current initiatives, and the future of watchmaking education.
On Saturday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m., Fasel will present a Q&A, moderated by Michelle Orman, and a signing for her latest book, “The History of Diamond Engagement Rings: A True Romance.”
The book dives into the origins of diamond engagement rings, following their journey from the 15th century through present day.
Savage will make his appearance on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. on the “Timepiece Pursuits: The Thrills, Triumphs, and Tribulations of Watch Collecting” panel.
He will be joined by Brynn Wallner of Dimepiece.co and Max Traber of Bonhams, with Anthony Traina of Hodinkee as the moderator. The panelists will share their insights on curating a collection, horology trends, and the challenges and excitement of pursuing rare timepieces.
At 3 p.m., attendees can gather to listen to a live podcast with Gem Pursuit, hosted by Alyce Ketcher and Matthew Weldon.
They will share the true crime story of Murph the Surf, a Miami jewel thief who famously stole the Star of India.
“This captivating story combines intrigue, local history, and high-stakes drama, making it a must-see for anyone interested in jewelry lore and Miami’s colorful past,” said organizers.
