Gem Legacy Adventures Announces 2025 Trip
Eleven spots are available for travelers to visit Northern Tanzania and Southern Kenya from July 25 to Aug. 4.

The annual trip will take place from July 25 to Aug. 4.
Its itinerary includes visiting Gem Legacy initiatives, multiple colored gemstone mines, and safaris inside national parks, as well as cultural experiences and a service project day at one of its initiatives.
Past Gem Legacy Adventures attendees have said that the trip educated them, allowing them to speak more authoritatively about gemstone mining and better address responsible sourcing questions, said Gem Legacy.
A former senior editor for National Jeweler also shared her experiences after going on the trip in 2022.
All profits from the trip fund Gem Legacy’s nonprofit administrative costs to ensure that the organization can minimize deducting operating costs from donations.
The nonprofit organization is dedicated to supporting vocational training, entrepreneurship, and community development in East African colored gemstone mining regions, said Gem Legacy.
There are 11 spots available on the Gem Legacy Adventures trip for travelers. It is not required to be a member of the jewelry industry to attend.
A deposit of $800 is required per person at the time of registration. The full amount is needed 12 weeks before the trip.
Depending on room choice, the 11-day trip will cost $4,850 or $4,400 for a single or double room, respectively.
This price includes hotels, entry to all the mines, meals, and transportation to and from the airport if travelers take the recommended flight.
A $1,000 donation to Gem Legacy is also required if the traveler or traveling couple has not donated this amount to the organization since March 1.
If a traveler is a member of the jewelry industry and their company donates or has donated since March 1, all employees of that company can travel under the one donation.
