Verizon Throws Its Hat in the Ring on Smart Rings
The wireless carrier is now stocking the Ultrahuman Ring Air in select U.S. stores.

On Tuesday, the company announced it is now selling the Ultrahuman Ring Air in its stores and online.
It is the first smart ring Verizon has ever offered, and it means more competition for existing smart rings, including the popular Oura and the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
Based in Bengaluru, India, with offices in London and the United Arab Emirates, Ultrahuman makes wearable technology with a focus on monitoring the wearer’s health. Its products include the Ultrahuman M1, a platform for real-time monitoring of glucose levels.
It launched the Ultrahuman Ring Air smart ring in June 2023.
The device monitors and, via its app, provides data on the wearer’s sleep, movement, and recovery, delivering “real-time data that helps users make informed decisions about their health and wellness,” Verizon said.
Ultrahuman also recently launched what it is calling the PowerPlugs store for apps and plug-ins for the Ring Air, a platform it said is the first of its kind for a smart ring.
In a review of smart rings published earlier this month, tech website ZDNet rated the Ultrahuman Ring Air as the best subscription-free smart ring.
The reviewer described the ring as “discreet and comfortable,” and wrote, “This ring is designed for fitness enthusiasts who want to optimize their body’s power for mental and physical energy throughout the day.
“From the moment you wake up until the minute you fall asleep, Ultrahuman offers insights into how to get the most out of your day through reminders on when to consume caffeine, expose yourself to sunlight, get up and walk, and wind down.”
The Ultrahuman Ring Air is available in multiple colors including “Aster Black,” “Bionic Gold,” “Matte Grey,” and “Space Silver.”
It retails for $349.99 on the Verizon website and is being sold in select Verizon stores in the United States.
