And the Golden Globe for Best Jewel Goes To…

Ruth Negga, Blake Lively, Zazie Beetz and Isabelle Huppert were just a few of the starlets who kicked off awards season with a bang.

Los Angeles--Only a few actors, producers, directors and writers can leave the Golden Globe Awards with a trophy in hand, but many more have the opportunity to create iconic jewelry moments on the red carpet.

Actresses who attended the 74th edition of the awards, held last night in Los Angeles, were game for the challenge.

The choker proved that, despite much speculation, it isn’t going anywhere. Actress Zazie Beetz had one of the best jewel moments of the night in her Selim Mouzannar version, while Michelle Williams pared down the trend to its simplest form, a black velvet bow, to elegant effect.

Red-carpet queen Lorraine Schwartz bejeweled several celebrities, per usual, but none as well as Blake Lively, who, in National Jeweler’s opinion, stole the entire show in her matching gold and emerald cuffs.

Below, we recount the Golden Globe looks that were contenders for Best Jewels.

“Atlanta” actress Zazie Beetz sported a Selim Mouzannar choker and earrings on the red carpet.

Blake Lively was at the Globes to support husband Ryan Reynolds, who was nominated for “Deadpool,” but the actress stole the show with her matching emerald Lorraine Schwartz cuffs.

French actress Isabelle Huppert took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her role in “Elle” while wearing an ear cuff by Repossi.

Tracee Ellis Ross was another of the night’s winners for her role in “Black-ish.” The actress also won in the ring game department; she was decked in Yeprem, Kavant & Sharart, Hueb, L’Dezen by Payal Shah, and Noudar.

Thandie Newton of “Westworld” sported more than 75 carats of diamonds set in platinum, all by Harry Winston. Her long necklace, worn cascading down her back, was one of the most unique looks of the night.

Emma Stone won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for her role in “La La Land.” Stone wore a diamond and platinum necklace, earrings and rings, all by Tiffany & Co. The necklace is from the Tiffany archive and dates back to 1909.

Actress Ruth Negga of “Loving shone in a Fred Leighton cuff featuring a Gemfields Mozambican ruby (cuff pictured in greater detail above).

Kristin Wiig also had a cuff moment at the show, sporting this Chanel fine jewelry piece.
