IWC watch proceeds to benefit filmmakers
Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen will make a donation to the Tribeca Film Institute through the auction of a unique timepiece, the brand’s Pilot’s Watch Spitfire Chronograph “Tribeca Film Festival 2014” edition.

The auction is scheduled for April 9 at Antiquorum Auctioneers in New York.
All proceeds from the sale of the watch will benefit the Tribeca Film Institute, the nonprofit affiliate of the Tribeca Film Festival, of which IWC is the official “festival time” partner. The institute said the donation will go toward its filmmakers.
The 18-karat gold Pilot’s Watch Spitfire IWC is auctioning is a “reimagined version of a modern classic,” the brand said, equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement and 68-hour power reserve. It also features a slate-colored dial and two Bordeaux subdials.
The wristwatch is part of a package that includes VIP access to the Tribeca Film Festival, an invitation to the “For the Love of Cinema” private dinner hosted by IWC, and luxury hotel accommodations in New York.
The Tribeca Film Festival will take place from April 16 to 27 in New York.
“This is a cause that is closely aligned with IWC’s long-standing tradition of supporting the art of cinema, by aiding the next generation of filmmakers in pursuing their craft to the fullest potential,” said IWC CEO Georges Kern.
Those interested in bidding on IWC’s Pilot’s Watch Spitfire Chronograph “Tribeca Film Festival 2014” edition may do so at the live auction, on the Antiquorum website or via telephone (Lot 268, 3:30 p.m.).
