Diamond Growers Association Grows by 8

Morrisville, N.C.--The International Grown Diamond Association, the organization created to represent the interest of the companies that produce lab-grown diamonds, has grown by eight members since it launched in February.
Numined Diamonds, Fair Trade Jewellery Co., The Gold Concept Jewelry and Design, Caraxy, M. Geller, Schubach Enterprises, D.Nea and DM Gems India now are members of the IGDA, the organization announced last week.
The IGDA had 11 founding members, including Scio, Pure Grown Diamonds (formerly Gemesis), the Diamond Foundry--the California-based startup that counts Blood Diamond actor Leonardo DiCaprio among its backers--and Chatham Created Gems & Diamonds.
The first lab-grown diamond association in the jewelry industry, IGDA was created to “represent the grown diamond industry, promote grown diamonds as a new choice in diamonds and educate about various unique qualities and applications of grown diamonds” as well as to ensure that lab-grown diamonds are presented in a fair and technically correct manner.
The organization’s membership is comprised of distributors, suppliers, retailers and technical experts in the United States, China, Singapore, India, Philippines, Russia, Canada and Hong Kong.
