The International Gemological Institute Hong Kong has certified what it believes is currently the world’s largest colorless synthetic diamond--a 10.02-carat square emerald-cut stone grown by New Diamond Technology.

Hong Kong--The International Gemological Institute Hong Kong has certified what it believes is the world’s largest colorless synthetic diamond--a 10.02-carat square emerald-cut stone.
The Type IIa diamond been certified as VS1 clarity, E color, with a very good-excellent finish.
The stone was cut from a record-breaking 32.26-carat piece of rough, which was lab grown by Saint Petersburg, Russia-based New Diamond Technology in less than 300 hours.
The 10-carat diamond is unique in all aspects, according to IGI co-CEO Marc Brauner, with its large size, very high color, and brilliance. He said in a company statement that, “the science and technology behind the processes synthesizing this stone are significantly more advanced than other man-made diamonds currently on the market.”
New Diamond Technology unveiled the stone at their booth during the recent JCK Las Vegas show.
It comes only two months after IGI Hong Kong certified a 5-carat radiant-cut brilliant and 4-carat-cushion-cut brilliant diamond also grown by New Diamond Technology that were, at the time, thought to be the world’s largest man-made diamonds.
