GSI distributing joy to children, box by box
Gemological Science International has delivered its first shipment of school supplies and children’s clothes to underprivileged children in India, the result of a recently launched campaign called “Joy Box.”

Mumbai--Gemological Science International has delivered its first shipment of school supplies and children’s clothes to underprivileged children in India, the result of a recently launched campaign called “Joy Box.”
For the Joy Box campaign, GSI has partnered with Each One Teach One, a charitable foundation that works to increase opportunities for underprivileged children in rural and urban India.
Together, the organizations are bringing items such as pens, paper, educational games, socks, shirts and new clothes to disadvantaged Indian children ages 13 to 15, and the first delivery of these goods has been a success.
“The children were overjoyed to see the amount of items contributed, which consisted of clothes, umbrellas, stationery items and so on. The happiness in their heart(s) was reflected on their faces, through a smile,” said EOTO CEO Hema Raney.
The Joy Box campaign will run through the summer and deliver goods to approximately 100 children across Mumbai.
The donations are made possible through contributions from Hari Krishna Diamonds, Moksh Jewellers, Fine Creations, Phalak Impex, Steck Beck, Fashion Exim and other companies in the jewelry industry.
“It gives me an immense pleasure to be a part of this campaign initiated by GSI staff,” GSI CEO Mark Gershburg said. “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to contributors from (the) gems and jewelry industry and to GSI employees specifically for playing a key role in this endeavor.”
GSI, established in 2005, is a full-service laboratory designed to meet the changing needs of the jewelry industry, with offices in the United States, India, Israel and Belgium.
