Boxing Legend Sugar Ray Leonard Joins Conclave Lineup
The Olympian and record-setting world champion will speak at the general session breakfast on Friday, April 7.

Las Vegas--The American Gem Society has announced another big name joining the lineup for 2017 Conclave.
Boxing champion and Olympian Sugar Ray Leonard will speak at the event’s general session breakfast on Friday, April 7.
Leonard competed from 1977 to 1997, winning world championship titles in five different weight divisions, a record that still stands today. He also won an Olympic gold medal in the 1976 Games in Montreal.
EPSN has called him one of the all-time greatest boxers, and he also was called the best of all time, “pound for pound,” by The Ring magazine in 1997, in addition to many other accolades.
Aside from his victories in boxing, Leonard also is a successful entrepreneur after starting his own sports promotion firm, and founded the Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation with his wife, Bernadette, in 2009 to raise funds for research and awareness of childhood Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and to help children live healthier lives through diet and exercise.
“Mr. Leonard’s endurance, drive and record-breaking success are a source of inspiration for millions,” said Ruth Batson, CEO of AGS and AGS Laboratories. “We look forward to his presentation and his insights on persevering through adversity and achieving his goals through hard work, passion and dedication--traits our members share.”
The 2017 Conclave, which will take place April 5 to 8, will be held at the Loews Hollywood Hotel, just a short walk from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The AGS already has announced that another big star will headline the event--comedian and longtime host of “The Tonight Show” Jay Leno, who will perform at the opening lunch on April 5.
The organization said it will be making more announcements in the near feature regarding additional speakers, registration information, breakout sessions and more.
