TimeCrafters brings watch show back to New York
TimeCrafters has announced that it will hold its third annual open-to-the-public luxury watch show in New York City. It is scheduled for May 16 to 18.
New York--TimeCrafters has announced that it will hold its third annual open-to-the-public luxury watch show in New York City. It is scheduled for May 16 to 18.
More than 20 of the top watch brands will showcase their newest innovations and most iconic designs at the show, including TAG Heuer, Audemars Piguet, Hublot, Frédérique Constant, Richard Mille and A. Lange & Söhne.
According to show organizers, TimeCrafters is the most comprehensive display in the United States of the world’s best horological work, showing some pieces that are rarely seen outside of Geneva. None of the brands present at the exhibition will be selling at TimeCrafters; the idea behind the show is just to pique U.S. consumers’ interest in mechanical timepieces.
The three-day event will include private breakfast viewings for VIP guests, a charity benefit event yet to be announced, and general admission viewing.
Master artisans from major brands will be on hand to give demonstrations of every stage of putting together a luxury timepiece. Select seminars will be held throughout the course of the show as well, including a few hosted by Reginald Brack, Christie’s vice president and director of private sales for watches. A seminar schedule will be released in the coming months.
Christie’s will sponsor this year’s TimeCrafters event, and its Private Watch Sales division will have a booth on-site to help attendees who may want to buy a timepiece after viewing those on display.
Christie’s conducts custom searches for clients to locate key works of jewelry or timepieces they are interested in acquiring. Clients are able to register wish lists the Private Sales team, and the auction house notifies them as soon as an appropriate item becomes available.
TimeCrafters will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The show will take place at the Park Avenue Armory, located at 643 Park Ave. between 66th and 67th Sts. in Manhattan.
Advance registration is now open here. Entrance fees are $10 online in advance or $20 at the door.
