GIA Debuts New Campus in Taiwan
It is the only GIA school to offer the GIA Graduate Gemologist program in Chinese.

The new GIA School of Gemology and Jewelry Arts officially opened March 29.
GIA opened its first school in Taiwan in 1991, and this new campus builds on its established presence.
It is located a short walk from Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station, near Taipei Main Station, the Xinyi District, and the Zhongshan commercial area.
“Education is the foundation of GIA, and it is crucial that we prepare each new generation of gem and jewelry professionals with the education, skills, and experience needed to thrive and succeed within the industry,” said GIA President and CEO Pritesh Patel.
“Our new campus in Taiwan will allow us to expand our education services and resources on a local and global scale.”
The new campus is the only GIA school to offer the GIA Graduate Gemologist program in Chinese.
It will also offer flexible weekend and evening classes to better serve prospective students and working professionals.
“We are very thrilled about this new addition along with the other upcoming school expansions, including a new location for the GIA school in London and the expansion of our New York campus,” said GIA Chief Learning Officer Cathryn Ramirez.
The campus’ grand opening ceremony was held by Vivian Po-Yun Wang, director of the GIA Taiwan Campus; Jing-Wen Tian, president of the GIA Alumni Association Taiwan Chapter; and Chien-Min Tseng, chairman of the Jewelry & Gold Association of the Republic of China.
The event featured guest remarks, lion dance performances, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a campus tour.
The GIA Taiwan Alumni Chapter also held a seminar and meeting with remarks by Nicole Garcia, GIA executive director of alumni development and alumni relations, followed by a closing banquet.
