Stafford’s Diamonds in Ohio to Close After 40 Years
The Dayton-based jeweler, which has been in business since 1985, was formerly known as Stafford Jewelers.

The Dayton, Ohio-based jeweler announced its upcoming closure via social media, though it did not provide a reason.
The retailer did not respond to National Jeweler’s request for comment.
Originally named Stafford Jewelers, the company’s first location opened in 1985 in Miamisburg, Ohio, according to its website.
In 1988, the jeweler decided it was time to expand, purchasing an adjacent unit and doubling its space to 3,600 square feet.
The retailer expanded again in 2004, purchasing land from a 20-year customer to build a 7,000-square-foot diamond-shaped showroom.
A year later, it moved into the new space, located across from the Dayton Mall. The showroom was later renovated.
It underwent another change in 2016, relaunching with its new name, Stafford’s Diamonds, and a new website.
The retailer did not provide a timeline for the closure but it is in the midst of its going-out-of business sale and will hold a special “Bling Bag” event this Saturday.
Stafford’s Diamonds in Dayton is not connected to Stafford Jewelers in Cincinnati, which closed its doors in 2020.
