BIJC To Host Responsible Sourcing Webinar
The “Ethical Practices and Responsible Sourcing” webinar will be Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. Eastern.
The “Ethical Practices and Responsible Sourcing” webinar will discuss how business owners in the jewelry industry can incorporate ethical practices and sustainable sourcing into their business and why it is important to do so.
The speakers are Monica Stephenson and Christina Miller. Together, they will speak on the best practices to follow, innovative solutions, and what the future looks like for responsible sourcing.
Stephenson founded ANZA Gems and was a co-founder of Moyo Gems, which are businesses dedicated to responsible gemstone purchasing and the promotion of traceable gems, respectively.
She also served as the president of non-profit Ethical Metalsmiths and sits on the board of advisors for BIJC, as well as on the board for the Women’s Jewelry Association and Gem Legacy.
Miller founded and is a lead consultant for Christina T. Miller Consulting, which connects supply chain actors with non-profits.
She also co-founded Ethical Metalsmiths, is the consulting director of Amazon Aid’s Gold Network, and led the first U.S. multi-jeweler fairmined gold purchase. Miller also lectures around the world and in 2018, she won the WJA Carelle grant.
She has a bachelor’s degree in art, jewelry, and metalsmithing, a master’s degree in jewelry and metalsmithing, and a fine jewelry certificate from Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School in Florence, Italy.
