Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference to Return in 2024
Like last year, it will take place alongside the Instore show.

The event is slated for Aug. 9 and 10.
It will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, in conjunction with the 2024 Instore show, as it did in 2023.
Co-locating the two shows created greater industry awareness, CRJC said.
The collaboration has helped expand its mission of creating responsible supply chains for jewelry materials and production, as well as foster greater communication and new educational and networking opportunities for the industry.
CRJC was founded in 2016 by Susan Wheeler as part of her nonprofit, the Responsible Jewelry Transformative.
It was formed to address the ethical and environmental damage the jewelry industry has historically been a part of, as well as develop actionable plans for a more just and sustainable industry.
Since its inception, it has achieved support from governments, NGOs, and the jewelry industry.
CRJC has two goals.
The first is to “create dialog among all participants in the supply chain, and to tell the truth, even unpleasant truths, to one another.”
The second is to initiate action among jewelry stakeholders.
“It’s not enough to just talk about problems; the industry must act to solve them,” conference organizers said. “To date, the Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference has motivated the launch of over a dozen worldwide initiatives. By coming together to learn, we inevitably are motivated to act.”
In its eight years, CRJC said it has seen growth in consumer demand for responsible jewelry and growth in the industry to meet those needs.
Following the conference, on Sunday, Aug. 11, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with responsible distributors of colored gemstones and diamonds at the Responsible Gem Boutique.
More information, including speakers, events, times, and prices, will be released soon, and other details are available on the CRJC website.
