5 New Releases for September

In its monthly new release feature, National Jeweler outlines five books that could potentially be beneficial for business owners as summer turns into fall.

Been wondering how to infuse your life with more meaning, or why you drop the f-bomb more than seems necessary? These books that just came out can help you with those questions.

New York--September’s new releases include two books designed to teach people how to forget their fears and go after their dreams.

There’s also a book that’s essentially a list of others: The 100 Best Business Books of All Time, which gathers top titles, as deemed by authors Jack Covert and Todd Sattersten.

Read on to learn more about these as well as other new releases for the fall.

1. Hustle: The Power to Charge Your Life with Money, Meaning, and Momentum
Neil Patel, Patrick Vlakovits and Jonas Koffler

Authored by Neil Patel, Patrick Vlakovits and Jonas Koffler, Hustle was written as a guide to making one’s dreams come true by outling the tools needed to be able to have a job that you truly enjoy. It also teaches readers how they can gain the confidence and motivation necessary to be in charge of their own adventures.

It is broken into three sections: “The Heart,” “The Head” and “The Habits.”

This book is 272 pages.

2. The 100 Best Business Books of All Time: What They Say, Why They Matter, and How They Can Help You
Jack Covert, Todd Sattersten

First published in 2009, this book was just reissued in August.

In it, authors Jack Covert and Todd Sattersten, who’ve spent years reading, evaluating and selling books about business, round up and review their top titles of all time, including Good to Great and The First 90 Days. Included among the 100 books are the names of movies, novels and even children's books that the authors feel also contain relevant insights.

This book is 368 pages.

3. Power Your Happy: Work Hard, Play Nice & Build Your Dream Life
Lisa Sugar

Lisa Sugar is the creator of the uber-popular website Popsugar. At her company, she and her husband manage a growing business with employees who love what they do, while managing to blend--not balance--it with an equally fulfilling home life.

Power Your Happy
details how she does it.

This book is 256 pages.

4. The Bridge to Brilliance: How One Principal in a Tough Community Is Inspiring the World
Nadia Lopez, Rebecca Paley

Nadia Lopez is the principal of a middle school in one of Brooklyn’s most underprivileged neighborhoods who stepped into the national spotlight after being featured on the popular website Humans of New York.

Bridge to Brilliance details her leadership skills in getting the school started, the value of hiring the right people to support
you, and how she keeps the students and teachers at her school encouraged every day.

This book is 288 pages.

5. What the F: What Swearing Reveals about Our Language, Our Brains, and Ourselves
Benjamin K. Bergen

Ever let an f-bomb fly after losing a big sale or finding out a shipment of product isn’t going to arrive on time or is lost in the mail? In What the F, author Bergen details exactly why humans used foul language and argues that it can be useful.

This book is 288 pages.
