Jewellery & Gem World to Move from Hong Kong to Singapore for a Year
JGW Singapore is slated for Sept. 27-30 at the Singapore Expo.
The shift for the business-to-business show is meant to offer another option for those who can’t fly to Hong Kong due to current border restrictions and self-isolation requirements.
JGW Singapore will only happen in 2022, Informa added. It is slated for Sept. 27-30 at the Singapore Expo.
Informa said Singapore plans to “steadily ease travel and social restrictions” once the current COVID-19 wave reaches its peak.
“The last two years have been extremely challenging for everybody, and we, as an industry, have been doing our utmost to not only keep businesses running, but moving forward,” said David Bondi, senior vice president of Informa Markets in Asia.
“Industry stakeholders overwhelmingly told us they wanted safe and secure physical fairs that they could participate in, and Informa Markets delivered by successfully hosting enhanced large-scale in-person events in the U.S., Europe, Middle East and Asia in the last several months, with many more firmly scheduled for 2022 and beyond.”
Informa Markets Jewellery also recently launched Jewellery, Gem & Technology Dubai.
For the remainder of 2022, the organizer plans to hold special editions of its signature jewelry and gem fairs in Hong Kong in June and September—Jewellery & Gem Asia Hong Kong from June 16-19 and Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong from Sept. 16-19 for China-based buyers, both trade and public.
The programs will also include digital elements like livestreaming sessions for an international audience.
Informa Markets is also slated to launch Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok from Nov. 2-5, a business-to-business cash-and-carry event.
