NAJA’s Mid-Year ‘Ace It’ Conference To Be Held Virtually This Month
It will be live streamed on Sept. 25 and 26.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Delta variant, all NAJA programs and exhibitions have been cancelled for August, the organization said, opting instead to keep membership informed and together with a short-but-intensive conference.
The virtual event will live stream on Sept. 25 and 26.
Education sessions on the first day are as follows.
--“Pearls in the Time of Pandemic,” Betty Sue King;
--“How to Really Read Gem Lab Reports,” Cigdem Lule;
--Noble Metal Testing 101, or “What’s It Made of Anyhow?’” Gary Smith; and
--“Stressed: How Supply Shortages have Fundamentality Changed Gem Prices,” Stuart Robertson.
The following day will continue with the below education sessions.
--“Research: Practices and Pitfalls,” Deborah Finleon;
--“Appraisals and Giant Gem Materials,” Dave Atlas;
--“Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out: Style and Influential Jewelers in the 1960s and 1970s,” Duncan Parker; and
--“Actual Cash Value Demystified,” Bill Hoefer.
NAJA members pay $75 per day to register for the event, and the cost is $125 per day for non-members. Both can choose to attend one day or two.
