Trump’s Engagement Ring for Marla Maples Up for Auction
Auction house Joseph DuMouchelle will offer the 7.45-carat emerald-cut Harry Winston diamond ring, which has a pre-sale estimate of $300,000.

Birmingham, Mich.--The engagement ring that businessman-turned-polarizing-presidential-candidate Donald Trump gave to Marla Maples in 1991 will hit the auction block for a second time.
Michigan-based auction house Joseph DuMouchelle will offer the 7.45-carat emerald-cut Harry Winston diamond ring at an auction scheduled to take place June 29 at the Lotte New York Palace hotel in New York City.
It’s expected to go for $300,000, nearly three times what it garnered the first time it went up for auction.
Trump proposed to actress and television personality Marla Maples in 1991, popping the question with the 7.45-carat Harry Winston sparkler.
The couple divorced in 1999, and Maples selected Joseph DuMouchelle to auction the ring in June of the following year, donating a portion of its $110,000 sale price to charity.
The same private buyer who purchased the ring then returned to the auction house to sell the engagement ring at auction a second time.
As a presidential candidate in the 2016 race, Trump’s current position adds to the provenance of the ring.
President Joseph DuMouchelle did not respond when asked Tuesday how Trump’s status as a polarizing candidate played into his decision to accept the ring for auction again.
It will appear in a sale with a number of other estate pieces from such jewelry brands as Verdura, Cartier, David Webb and Tiffany & Co.
Headquartered in Birmingham, Mich., with offices in New York City and Palm Beach and Naples, Fla., Joseph DuMouchelle has been appraising and selling fine gems and jewelry for more than 30 years.
