Aurelia L. Roman dies at 94
Aurelia Roman, a constant at the side of husband Michael Roman during his long career in the jewelry industry, died Saturday, Oct. 24. She was 94 years old.

Easton, Md.--Aurelia L. Roman, a constant at the side of husband Michael Roman during his long career in the jewelry industry, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Oct. 24. She was 94 years old.
She started her career as a hospital social worker in Chicago, was a fashion model and, for more than 20 years, was a personal and corporate interior designer, working in Connecticut, New York and Florida. Roman loved other art forms as well, including designing hats, restoring antique furniture and painting.
Roman was a constant at the side of her husband of 56 years, the late Michael D. Roman, throughout his long career in the jewelry industry, making many friends along the way. Michael Roman served as the chairman of the board and executive director of Jewelers of America from 1976 to 1995; he died in 2002 at the age of 84.
Roman was a longtime resident of Greenwich, Conn. where she was a member of the Milbrook Club, and volunteered for Greenwich Hospital, St. Michael’s Parish and the Convent of the Sacred Heart school.
In 2002, she moved to Easton, Md., where she lived in Cooke’s Hope and was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Parish.
Roman is survived by her son, Michael R. Roman of Easton; two daughters, Laurie M. Roman of Baltimore and Lisa M. Roman of Wilton, Conn.; and four granddaughters, Alexandra and Rachel Roman of Easton, and Nicole and Lizette Roman-Johnston of Wilton.
A celebration of life mass is scheduled for Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Peter & Paul Parish in Easton.
