Las Vegas--The Edge Retail Academy has introduced a new program to help jewelers improve the strength and profitability of their inventories through one-on-one sessions with industry expert Sally Furrer.
Called “Health Insurance for Your Inventory,” the program will guide jewelers on a on a per-project basis with no long-term contract required.
According to the Edge Retail Academy, Furrer will determine the scope of the projects on a on a case-by-case basis and provide a quote for improving the overall health of the client’s inventory and merchandising activities. Cost will be based on the size of the project and amount of time required.
Furrer is a merchandise specialist and business mentor for the Edge Retail Academy. She got her start in the jewelry retail business through her family’s stores in Montreal, and over the years has held positions at Bucherer in Switzerland, Europe’s SSEF gemological lab and Cartier.
She relocated to the United States after earning degrees in jewelry design and gemology from the Gemological Institute of America, and worked as a colored stone wholesaler, followed by positions at retailer Robbins Bros. and The Shane Company before starting her own consulting company.
“The Edge Retail Academy is fortunate to have one of the industry’s leading specialists in inventory and merchandising on its team,” said founder David Brown.
“Sally Furrer has decades of high-level experience, including tenures as vice president of merchandising for Robbins Bros. and owner of her own successful consulting service specializing in merchandising, product development, supply management and more. With the introduction of our program … jewelers can now hire her to make a ‘house call,’ so to speak, take the pulse of their inventory, and prescribe steps to make it more robust.”
The Edge Retail Academy was co-founded by jewelry store owner Brown, who is also a 20-year consultant, trainer and public speaker in the jewelry industry, and offers seminars and mentoring for jewelers worldwide.
