High-end NY antique show changes location, date

U.S. Antique Shows will launch its exclusive Lueur antique jewelry and watch show from Oct. 23 to 25 at the Jacob K. Javits Center, aligning it with a number of other trade shows occurring at the venue during the month.

New York--Trade show organizer U.S. Antique Shows has announced that it will hold its exclusive new Lueur high-end antique jewelry and watch show at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York from Oct. 23 to 25.

According to show organizers, Lueur was created to bring elite purveyors of highly prized and rare pieces together with both retailers and consumers just before the holiday season.

It will offer exclusive trade-only hours on the first day to provide exclusive buying opportunities for jewelry retailers, followed by three more days open to the public.

The new dates and location of the show are aligned with a number of other events in New York City around that time. Its dates are scheduled to immediately follow the International Watch & Jewelry Guild show.

Lueur also precedes the JA Special Delivery New York show, slated for Oct. 25 to 27 at the Javits Center. Special Delivery is expected to have some 7,500 buyers, all of which will be given complimentary admission to Lueur.

U.S. Antique Shows and JA New York parent company Emerald Expositions also holds its PhotoPlus International Expo at the Javits Center in late October. Lueur show organizers noted that these buyers are high-income consumers with disposable incomes, and the 22,000 expected to attend also will receive free admission to Lueur.

Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows general manager said “With exhibit space nearly sold out in the first week of its announcement, Lueur is on track to be one of U.S. Antique Shows’ most successful launches. To further capitalize on excitement already surrounding this show and by holding the event at the Javits Convention Center, we believe this will establish Lueur as one of the industry’s most important events.”

When the launch of Lueur first was announced late last fall, it was scheduled for earlier in October at The Waterfront in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood.

The show’s change in location allows it to be closer to these other trade shows, and also strategically places the show in the Javits Center for years to come, which stands to benefit from the development of the nearby Hudson Yards project, U.S. Antique Shows said.

Hudson Yards is the biggest real estate development in U.S. history with more than 17 million square feet of commercial and residential space. It’s expected to open its first phase in 2016.

Lueur

will be open on Friday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the jewelry trade. It then will be open to the public from 1 to 7 p.m. that day, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Admission is $20 and covers all three days of the show. For more information, visit LueurNY.com.
