Mouawad Returns to Create ‘Champagne Nights’ Fantasy Bra
The 2017 Victoria’s Secret iteration is valued at $2 million and bedecked with almost 6,000 gemstones--including diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz.
New York--Lebanese jewelry brand Mouawad is back at it.
Victoria’s Secret recently revealed the 2017 Fantasy Bra, dubbed “Champagne Nights,” which is once again designed by the jeweler.
This year’s bra is valued at $2 million, bedecked with almost 6,000 gemstones weighing more than 600 carats total--including diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz--set in 18-karat gold.
It took almost 350 hours to create.
It will be worn this year by Brazilian “angel” Lais Ribeiro--her first time wearing the bra--during its Fashion Show, which is slated for Nov. 28 this year.
Mouawad has designed a number of Fantasy Bras for the company, including the 2001 “Heavenly Star,” worn by Heidi Klum, valued at $12.5 million, setting a Guinness World Record as the most valuable bra. It featured 1,200 Sri Lankan pink sapphires and a 90-carat emerald cut diamond worth $10.6 million at center.
Last year, though, it was designed by Eddie Borgo with jewels from AW Mouzannar. New York-area retailer London Jewelers also designed the bra in 2012.
