100 Rare Vintage Heuer Watches Up for Grabs
Pre-owned watch site Crown & Caliber’s four-day online sale starts today.

New York--Crown & Caliber, a pre-owned watch retail website, is launching a sale today of 100 vintage Heuer watches, all produced before 1985.
The format of the sale is part sealed auction, part private sale.
Potential buyers can bid on an item online and see how their offer matches up when the current highest bid is announced each day at noon EST. Customers then have a chance to continue bidding for the duration of the four-day sale, tracking each day’s high bid as it’s announced.
The sale begins today and will end Thursday at noon EST. On Thursday the highest bid will be announced at 9 a.m., allowing interested parties a chance to make a final bid before the sale is finished.
Crown & Caliber said that the watches that make up the “Heuer 100” exemplify Heuer’s sporting legacy of the 1960s and 1970s (Heuer was acquired by the TAG group in 1985 and became TAG Heuer from that point forward.)
At the time, Heuer was heavily involved with racing, crafting chronographs of the utmost functionality for sporting purposes.
Heuer created several models in this vein, including the “Autavia,” “Carrera,” “Camaro,” “Monaco,” and “Montreal.” Steve McQueen famously sported a “Monaco” style in the 1971 racing film Le Mans.
The Swiss matchmaker also partnered with Abercrombie & Fitch on a series of “Seafarer” watches, five of which are included in the Heuer 100 sale.
