AGS Honors Individuals, Guilds at Conclave
At the conference’s Titleholders Luncheon, a few special individuals and one guild were recognized for their contributions to the jewelry industry.

Los Angeles--At American Gem Society Conclave last week, a few special individuals and one guild were recognized for their contributions to the jewelry industry.
During the Titleholders Luncheon on Thursday, AGS handed out awards to Anna Samsonova, the Cincinnati Guild, Adam Graham and Carol Mosher.
Samsonova, CGA, of Ben Bridge Jeweler, received the Young Titleholders Award from Denise Chislett, CGA, chair of the Young Titleholders steering committee.
“Anna is the type of person who does all the work behind the scenes and doesn’t want any credit for it,” commented Chislett. “She always makes our team look good and is never afraid to speak her mind. She is the one who approached (AGS) past president, David Gardner, and asked if she could rejuvenate the Young Titleholders after the committee had been inactive for years.”
The Cincinnati Guild took home the Guild of the Year Award.
Marc Altman, CGA, chair of the AGS International Guilds, said, “When (Cincinnati’s) leader, Kara Huddleston, was on maternity leave, the members of this guild’s board worked together like a finely tuned engine and carried on, showing amazing leadership.”
AGS member Adam Graham received the Sallie Morton Award, an honor which was previously bestowed upon the winner of this year’s Robert M. Shipley Award, Cathy Calhoun. The Sallie Morton Award goes to an individual who has "gone over and above" in their contributions to AGS guilds, the association said. The award is named for Sallie Morton, who championed and promoted the guilds.
Altman said of Graham, “As one of our first speakers, Adam traveled the country, going tirelessly to one meeting after the other, whenever we asked. As busy as his life is, he never said no to us.”
Detective Carol Mosher of the Los Angeles Police Department was the recipient of
“Detective Mosher has been one of the country’s most active task force officers dealing with jewelry crime and has arrested dozens of international criminals,” Altman said. “Carol is an advisor to law enforcement agencies across the U.S. and is a guest speaker at many events.”
Also at AGS Conclave, the 17 members of the AGS’s board of directors were re-elected at Saturday’s membership breakfast.
