Live from Italy: Vianna Brasil
Vianna Brasil introduced three new collections at the Vicenzaoro Winter show, employing both vibrant and milky gemstones in an array of colors.
Vicenza, Italy--Brazilian jewelry brand Vianna Brasil introduced three new collections at this year’s Vicenzaoro Winter show, each led by a combination of both vivid and cloudier gemstones that take shape after geological features found in the country.
The shape of the gemstones in the Gávea collection, for example, is inspired by the Pedra da Gávea Mountain in Rio de Janeiro’s Tijuca Forest, explained Karla Antunes, the brand’s marketing and creative director.
“It all starts with the gemstone,” she told National Jeweler at the show.

Pieces in this collection range in price from $3,000 to $12,800 at retail.
The prasiolite, aquamarine and milky aquamarine stones in the new Maroaga collection have a shape that follows the formation of the entrance of a cave, also in Rio, Antunes said. This line employs a greater overall concentration of these milkier hues, set in 18-karat yellow and rose gold with the pieces retailing between $1,500 and $25,000.
While the brand also debuted the Golden Glow collection at Vicenzaoro Winter, the show is serving as the soft launch for the line, with the official launch slated for JCK in Las Vegas this May, where the Gávea and Maroaga lines also will be shown.
Golden Glow puts the focus on various sizes and cuts of yellow beryl (yellow is a signature hue for the brand, Antunes said) set in 18-karat white and yellow gold with diamond accents. Price points in the line range from $900 to $35,000.
“(Golden Glow) is vibrant and feminine with different styles divided by price point--that’s the idea for his line,” Antunes said, adding that the brand plans to launch a second line under the Golden Glow collection that will feature larger stones.
