Zadok Jewelers to Open Expanded Store in Mixed-Use Project
The Zadok-owned building will allow for a retail store double in size and also will feature restaurants and offices.

Houston—Zadok Jewelers will open a new, larger showroom in Houston, but the expansion comes as part of a much larger, exciting project for the owners of the retail store.
A mixed-use development building will be constructed on the city’s tony Post Oak Boulevard—at 1801 Post Oak, to be precise, while the current Zadok Jewelers is located just next door at 1749—to house the new store as well as a number of retail shops, restaurants and offices.
It will occupy real estate developer George Hines’ former strip center, which the Zadok family acquired directly from the developer in 2011.
The Zadoks have enlisted well-known Texas architect Michael Hsu to develop the five-story, 112,000-square-foot space.
Included in it will be a bi-level, 26,000-square-foot Zadok Jewelers store, nearly doubling the size of their current retail space.
The retail store will flank a 26-foot-high drive-through arcade, and on the other will be two adjoining double-height restaurant spaces totaling just over 11,000 square feet.
The development takes advantage of Uptown’s new 15-foot setbacks by creating a pedestrian-friendly space along the tree-lined sidewalks, and the building will incorporate retail entrances, valet pick up and drop off (as well as self-parking), a concierge lobby for three floors and 68,000 square feet of boutique offices above.
The Zadoks said the project fulfills several goals for them—creating a legacy property for the neighborhood as well as owning their own show space on the boulevard.

“We’re so happy to have made the decision to retain full ownership and creative control and also to be collaborating with such an incredible team at Hsu. We believe the scale and quality are very much in keeping with this stretch of Post Oak Blvd. and truly complement the world-class neighborhood that Uptown Houston has become.”
It comes amid a project from neighborhood group Uptown Houston to redesign Post Oak Boulevard while also preserving existing automobile lanes and improving transit service to address and handle the city’s growth.
The building’s groundbreaking is slated to begin in August and should be completed by the second half of 2020.
