Springer’s Jewelers’ New Flagship Will Serve Next-Gen Luxury Shoppers
Fourth-generation CEO Lilly Mullen wants to emphasize experience, connection, and personalized service.

The family-owned jeweler will relocate from its current store on Congress Street in Portland, Maine, to its new location at 455 Fore Street in the city’s Old Port neighborhood.
Springer’s Jewelers also operates locations in Bath, Maine, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
The new Portland store will span just over 5,900 square feet, nearly triple the size of its current 2,200-square-foot location.
The opening marks a major investment in the 155-year-old retailer’s future as it looks to evolve its approach to luxury retail to better serve a new generation of shoppers.
The flagship will emphasize experience, connection, and personalized service.
The New England retailer is led by fourth-generation CEO Lilly Mullen, the first woman to lead the company, who is guiding the family business through “a period of thoughtful growth rooted in both legacy and innovation.”
“We’re thinking deeply about what luxury means today,” said Mullen. “It’s no longer just about product—it’s about how people feel when they walk through the door. We want every interaction to feel personal, thoughtful, and memorable.”
Mullen’s goal is to design a space that fosters a more immersive and hospitality-driven client experience, with a focus on comfort, trust, discovery, and long-term relationship building.
The space will blend historic architectural influence with a modern retail environment.
“Care has always been part of our DNA,” Mullen said. “What’s changing is how intentionally we design experiences around it.”
The retailer said it will encourage its associates to create meaningful moments that go above and beyond the usual retail experience.
At a time of consolidation within the jewelry industry, the retailer said its new flagship also cements its commitment to independent, family-owned luxury retail.
“For more than 155 years, our business has grown through relationships and trust,” said Mullen. “This investment is about building a company that continues to thrive for generations to come.”
