Tabayer Names Mary Chiam as CEO
The brand also debuted its new “Zorae” collection featuring a talisman of protection and harmony inspired by a sheaf of wheat.

With more than 20 years of experience in the fashion and luxury industries, Chiam brings a track record rooted in innovative scaling strategies centered around product, retail, and technology development to the position, said Tabayer, along with enhancing the end-to-end luxury experience.
She will work closely with Nigora Tokhtabayeva, founder and creative director of Tabayer, to focus on growth supporting product development and retail partners.
“We are delighted to welcome Mary as our new CEO. Her deep understanding of the luxury jewelry landscape and her thoughtful leadership will undoubtedly elevate Tabayer to new heights,” said Tokhtabayeva.
“I am confident that, under Mary’s guidance, we will continue to honor our commitment to fine craftsmanship and sustainability while fostering growth and expanding our presence in the world of fine jewelry.”
Previously, Chiam has held key leadership roles at Net-a-Porter and Moda Operandi, as well as online sneaker and streetwear marketplace Stadium Goods, which was acquired by Farfetch in 2018.
While in these roles, she spearheaded growth across categories, markets, and emerging areas such as luxury resale, circularity, and digital IDs, said Tabayer.
In her consulting practice, Chiam has advised both early-stage and established global brands on unlocking commercial growth and identifying strategic opportunities.
“Tabayer fills this section of the market where customers are looking for minimal luxury—yet with bold designs. We want to continue to offer this customer fine jewelry pieces for special events that also serve their day-to-day activities,” said Chiam.
Chiam succeeds Maxim de Turckheim, who had been CEO at Tabayer since May 2024.
Along with the announcement of Tabayer’s new CEO is the debut of its latest collection.
The “Zorae” collection introduces a new modern symbol inspired by a sheaf of wheat that symbolizes unity, abundance, and resilience and acts as a talisman of protection and harmony, said Tabayer.
Throughout the 11 designs, the bound stalks of wheat are interwoven through 18-karat Fairmined yellow and white gold, with diamonds representing morning dew on the grain.
The golden threads seen in the new collection intertwine and encircle around the body through rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.
“They weave their wearer into a quiet yet unshakable force, a delicate but enduring embrace,” said Tabayer.
The Zorae collection debuted at Couture on Thursday and will be available this fall on the Tabayer website.
