Reena Ahluwalia Donates Diamond Painting to Benefit CJA
The artwork, titled “Pristine,” was raffled off at the Canadian Jewellers Association’s recent summit.
Ahluwalia said Angela Betteridge, the chair of CJA, invited her to showcase her artwork at the CJA Industry Summit, which took place on Oct. 21 at The St. Regis Toronto.
She decided upon being invited to donate a painting titled “Pristine,” valued at $5,000, to the event’s raffle.
Negin Tadayyon of C.D. Barcados Co. Ltd., a Toronto-based colored gemstone wholesaler, won the painting.
Ahluwalia said the raffle raised more than $10,000 for CJA.
“I make art to add joy to people’s lives and when art can serve, it’s one of the most gratifying feelings,” said Ahluwalia.
The summit, which was sold out, also featured education sessions, networking opportunities, and a CJA awards ceremony.
Betteridge thanked Ahluwalia for her donation, adding “The Canadian Jewellers Association is deeply grateful for your most generous support.”
