The New TAG Heuer x Porsche Watch Celebrates Racing

The bright orange and black timepiece is a nod to the brands’ histories and shared love of motorsports.

The newly released TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing features a 44mm carbon case and the in-house Calibre Heuer 02, a 168-part movement manufactured at TAG Heuer’s Chevenez facility in Switzerland.
New York—TAG Heuer and Porsche have released their sixth timepiece collaboration.

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing is a bold and bright celebration of the brands’ shared love of racing.

The timepiece is based on the TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph and is a follow up to the
TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition.

It features the in-house Calibre Heuer 02, a 168-part movement manufactured at TAG Heuer’s Chevenez facility in Switzerland, which includes a column wheel and a vertical clutch.

It has a power reserve of 80 hours.

The design is inspired by Porsche’s aesthetic as well as the overall world of racing. According to TAG, the watchmaker chose the color orange to mirror the sparks made by the car’s wheels on the asphalt. The hue is also a nod to the color of fire, a symbol synonymous with speed.

The Porsche logo on the bezel is orange as is the lacquer on the crown, the graphic details on the dial, and the seconds hand.

The brightness of the orange is amplified by the contrasting black, present in different textures and finishes.

The 44mm case has a diamond-like carbon finish, a coating that gives it a deep, black color.

As in the 2021 and 2022 TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche timepieces, this watch has a custom-designed oscillating weight, like the Porsche steering wheel.

The weight can be seen through the sapphire glass caseback. It has orange and black details and is labeled with “Porsche” and “TAG Heuer.”

The black calfskin strap features orange stitching similar to the seat upholstery of a Porsche car and is also a nod to the racing marks cars leave on the track at high speed.

“The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing is all about the racing universe and represents the high performance and thrill of speed, values that we share deeply with TAG Heuer, and a fine example of our common mindset as we continue our exciting journey as partners,” said Robert Ader, chief marketing officer at Porsche AG.

The two companies have been connected through the motorsports world for about 70 years.

The Carrera Panamericana, a legendary and dangerous race, served as an inspiration to both brands.

When Porsche won the race in 1954, it named its most powerful model the “Carrera.” In 1963, Jack Heuer, the watch brand’s CEO at the time, named his new chronograph after the race.

“With such a strong heritage shared with Porsche in the racing field, we are excited to present a new watch that embodies every aspect of this incredible sport,” said TAG Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault.

“It is also a nod to the history shared by TAG Heuer and Porsche – a history on which we continue to build. Together, with their expertise and creativity, our teams have created a bold and powerful timepiece encased in a sporty yet elegant design.”

The special edition watch is accompanied by co-branded black and orange packaging.

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Porsche Orange Racing retails for $7,050.

Released this month, the watch is available at TAG Heuer boutiques, the brand’s e-commerce websites, and at select retail partners.
