5 Designers Not to Miss at JA New York

Some are old and some are new, but all are worth a visit at the trade show starting this Sunday.

New York--With the JA New York spring show beginning this Sunday, it’s time for buyers to make a game plan when tackling the show floor, which will be filled with over 350 exhibitors.

There are five booths in particular National Jeweler is setting aside time to see.

L’Dezen – Booth 2705
L’Dezen is the brainchild of designer Payal Shah. Shah studied architecture design in London and worked as a junior architect before she switched gears to jewelry six years ago.

Now, the designer is based between Hong Kong and Belgium, and sells her luxuriously rustic and romantic creations around the world.

L’Dezen retails from $2,000 to $25,000.

Jill Maurer – Booth 1816
Jill Maurer is a JA New York newcomer. Maurer only made her official brand debut under a year ago at JCK Las Vegas.

Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Maurer’s work is substantial and a touch earthy with a focus on textures. Maurer doesn’t design with gender in mind; all of her pieces are unisex.

Her offerings range in price from $125 to $40,000 retail.

Meira T – Booth 1313
Meira Tugendhaft has been designing Meira T for the past ten years. Tugendhaft is inspired by her adopted city of New York, where she has resided for the last 30 years after being brought up in Europe.

Meira T is all about layering, mixing and matching, with on-trend styles that flatter the body and become a glamorous second skin.

Meira T’s average retail price falls between $500 and $3,000.

Gigi Ferranti – Booth 1710
Designer Gina Ferranti of Gigi Ferranti is a Brooklyn, New York-based newcomer to the fine jewelry scene.

She debuted her line of ultra-feminine jewels at last summer’s JA New York show. Ferranti’s collection is chockful of contemporary chokers and stacking rings, plus bold, semi-precious gemstone pendants.

Ferranti’s offerings are priced between $295 and $6,500 retail.

Doves by Doron Paloma – Booth 1305
Lastly, the Doves by Doron Paloma booth is sure to be a treasure box of magnificent pieces.

The New York-based brand, which has been in business for 38 years, has adorned many a celebrity in its large gemstone
designs and classic gold and diamond statement pieces. Even Queen Bey herself (Beyoncé) recently rocked a Doves by Doron Paloma look.

Doves by Doron Paloma retails between $750 and $15,000.
