Keynotes for WJA’s ‘In the Know’ Announced
Randi Zuckerberg and Hitha Herzog will discuss being a three-dimensional woman, retail trends and a shift in consumer attitudes at the annual In the Know conference.
New York--New York Times best-selling author Randi Zuckerberg and retail analyst Hitha Herzog will be the keynote speakers at the Women’s Jewelry Association’s annual In the Know conference.
In the Know is scheduled for March 10 at Convene, located at 730 Third Ave. in New York.
Herzog, chief retail analyst at boutique consumer and retail research firm Aitchpe Retail Advisory, will follow Zuckerberg with her own discussion on retail trends and shifts in consumer attitudes and how they affect shopping behavior.
The theme of the 2016 In the Know conference is “Blurring the Lines,” and it will focus on how consumer behavior and technology are changing the way jewelry is sold both online and off.
The WJA is introducing a new feature into the event’s lineup this year, a “fireside” chat format of brief conversations with industry professionals who are changing the jewelry sales paradigm. On board for this year’s chat so far are designer Kara Ross, discussing her new Diamonds Unleashed initiative and women’s empowerment, and the founders of AuRate, an online gold jewelry buying site with a philanthropic point of view.
The day also will include Ben Smithee of the Smithee Group interviewing four jewelry consumers live on stage about what’s important to them when they shop, where they choose to shop and what they purchase, and breakout workshops for new business owners and designers.
Following In the Know will be the In the Spotlight event honoring each WJA chapter’s “Shining Star,” a member who has given extraordinary service to their chapter throughout the past year, as well as the WJA Divas, the winners of the association’s annual design competition. In the Spotlight also will take place at Convene.
Tickets for both events will go on sale later this month. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
