Salma Hayek poses for Pomellato
Italian fine jewelry brand Pomellato has named Academy Award-nominated actress Salma Hayek as the face of the brand, featuring her at the center of its newest ad campaign.

Milan--Italian fine jewelry brand Pomellato has named Academy Award-nominated actress Salma Hayek as the face of the brand, featuring her at the center of its newest ad campaign.
The campaign was shot by photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Los Angeles, and includes a number of close-up images featuring Hayek laying in an open-air swimming pool as she dons Pomellato jewels.
It will run in national fashion and news publications, though the company wouldn’t give specifics on which ones or how long it would run.
The brand will celebrate the partnership and the launch of the new campaign with an event at Milan Fashion Week on Thursday, where Hayek will be honored at a cocktail event to be followed by a private dinner.
Pomellato also will use the event as an opportunity to unveil its Milano collection, the details of which will be released later.
The company said it selected Hayek to be in its campaign because she possesses the traits that all the brand’s ambassadors have shared: indisputable beauty and a strong, individual personality. She also is at the height of success and glamour but remains accessible, an aspect that the brand said it sees in its fine jewelry.
This is not the first time that the actress and fine jewelry brand have worked together--Hayek was one of the celebrities photographed for Pomellato’s “Shots” project, a gallery of portraits signed by photographer Michel Comte and auctioned off to benefit the construction of the orthopedic hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan.
In addition to being an Academy Award-nominated actress--Hayek was nominated for the Best Actress in a Leading Role Academy Award for her performance in Frida in 2002--and producer, Hayek also is a social activist.
Through her Time for Change program, in addition to a number of others, she advocates to raise money and awareness to help improve the lives of women and children across the world.
Prior to Hayek, actress Tilda Swinton was the face of Pomellato.
