Deborah Finleon’s company, DJF Appraisal Services, was founded in 2010.

Rego Park, N.Y.--Graduate gemologist and certified master appraiser Deborah Finleon is now the associate director of the chair of education at the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

In her new role, Finleon’s primary responsibility will be to update and keep current NAJA’s Home Study Course, which was unveiled to the membership at its mid-year conference in Washington, D.C. earlier this month. She also will oversee development of the online appraisal course.

Finleon’s secondary responsibilities will be to assist the executive director in course development, conference proceedings and other administrative functions.

From design to retail to appraising, Finleon has more than 14 years of experience in the jewelry industry and also has appraised for both retail and private clients, as well as attorneys and estates. She is one of four certified master appraisers in NAJA, the highest designation within the organization.
