White Pine offering discounted inventory
Recycled diamond and jewelry company White Pine Trading has purchased the inventory from recently liquidated wholesaler Bauman-Massa Jewelry Co., and will now sell the goods to retailers at a discount.
New York--Recycled diamond and jewelry company White Pine Trading has purchased the inventory from recently liquidated wholesaler Bauman-Massa Jewelry Co., and will now sell the goods to retailers at a discount.
The inventory should be available to retailers through the White Pine sales team from mid- to late September for 25 to 40 percent off the original price.
White Pine said that it purchased all of the wholesaler’s inventory, which includes both the Bauman-Massa Collection and Designs by Kate McCullar designer lines. Offerings include bridal diamond jewelry, colored stones, fashion jewelry and silver jewelry. The karat-gold products will start at $350 and go from there, according to White Pine.
Michael Lebowitz, director of jewelry for White Pine, said the newly acquired collection “provides price diversity.”
Founded in 1882, family-owned Bauman-Massa focused on providing high-fashion items at affordable prices, especially within its two designer lines. In addition to the finished jewelry it offered, the company also imported loose diamonds through its offices in Tel Aviv, Israel and Mumbai, and was a direct importer of pearls.
The purchase follows closely on the heels of White Pine’s recent acquisition of inventory from JewelAmerica.
“This inventory acquisition is part of a broader, customer-centric strategic direction at White Pine,” Lebowitz said. “Through our new closeout wholesale division, we are striving to give our customers even greater access to better brands and jewelry. Our sales force will be bringing this product to retailers at prices ranging from 25 to 40 percent below what they would typically pay when purchasing directly from the manufacturer. Simply put, we are giving our customers more opportunities to pick up high quality pieces at great prices, thereby increasing their margins.”
White Pine buys recycled, polished diamonds of all sizes and grades, either loose or as secondhand jewelry. The company remanufactures chipped, damaged, and poorly cut diamonds to “homogenize” appearance, and uses a significant proportion of its diamonds in jewelry and resells the remainder to retailers, jewelry manufacturers, diamond manufacturers and dealers primarily in the U.S and Asia.
