JFC announces 2014 Local Grants program
Jewelers for Children soon will begin accepting nominations for its Local Grants program, which gives 10 separate $10,000 grants to local charities nominated by jewelers.

New York--Jewelers for Children soon will begin accepting nominations for its Local Grants program, which gives 10 separate $10,000 grants to local charities nominated by jewelers.
Independent jewelers nominate the charity they want to be considered for a grant. Once a final list of nominees has been put together, each retailer will be responsible for motivating people to vote for their charity through a campaign on JFC’s Facebook page.
The jewelers and the nominated charities will have to generate interest in their organizations for votes through their own social media outlets. JFC also can provide sample language for use on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as press releases that can be used to promote the nominated charity.
Nominations will be accepted from Sept. 1 to 30. Public voting will take place from Oct. 6 to 19, and the 10 winners will be announced on Oct. 22.
The grants will be awarded to the charities before the end of the year by the jewelers that nominated them on behalf of the entire industry.
“Last year, Day’s Jewelers participated in JFC’s Local Grants program,” said Jeff Corey of Day’s Jewelers. “We were able to earn a $10,000 grant for Camp Sunshine, a local charity dedicated to children in need. It was a wonderful opportunity for Day’s, our customers and our community to work together to help kids locally through JFC.”
Details on how to participate in the program and the requirements for nominated charities can be found on the JFC website. The nomination form also can be found on the site. It is to be completed and returned to JFC for consideration.
