Designers Sell Jewels to Celebrate Pride Month
Alexis Bittar and Fortune & Frame have created styles that embrace Pride festivities, which show support for the LGBT community.

New York--Two jewelry brands are creating festive jewels in honor of Pride Month, when cities across the United States show support for the LGBT community.
Alexis Bittar crafted 12 of its signature Lucite bangles in every hue of the rainbow. Stacked together, as Lady Gaga wore them at New York City’s Pride March on Sunday, they make a bold and socially conscious statement.
Part of the proceeds from the styles, which come in two widths priced at $100 and $120 retail, support New York City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
"It’s been an honor to support NYC’s The Center, an establishment empowering the LGBTQ community to lead healthy, successful lives," said the CEO of Deconic, the fashion jewelry company that owns Alexis Bittar, Matteo Del Vecchio. "We wanted to use our brand’s voice and our signature bangle to celebrate and support love, acceptance and community for all."

Fortune & Frame, meanwhile, known for its fortune-holding lockets—just like the fortunes received in a fortune cookie—also brought out a new style in time for Pride.
For the month of June, it’s allowing customers the option to order any of its products with the fortune printed on a special rainbow paper.
“I believe that true personalization tells the story of who a person is, beyond their name, birth month or zodiac sign. While our customers can already write their own custom fortunes—or ‘stories of the moment’—when they order on our site, we suspected we could go even deeper,” Fortune & Frame founder Gretel Going said.
“Pride has always been my favorite time of year, especially in New York City, because it’s a celebration of being exactly who you are. The notion of self-discovery and expression is at the core of the Fortune & Frame brand, so while the rainbow background might not be in keeping with traditional fortunes, letting people tell their story is certainly in keeping with our bigger mission.”
Fortune & Frame lockets start at $98 for a gold-plated brass version. Going said she intends to bring back the rainbow fortunes each June, and customers will be able to order them specially the rest of the year.
