John Hardy’s Spring Color Story
Colored moonstones and vivid enamel are just a couple of highlights of the Bali brand’s spring collection.

New York--Combining the elegance of sacred Indonesian jewelry-making technique with the sophistication of an urban metropolis-residing customer has always been the John Hardy ethos.
For spring 2017, this meant reinterpreting the brand’s go-to inspirations, such as bamboo, with a pop of color.
The biggest development for the coming season is the incorporation of naturally colored moonstone. White, gray and peach moonstones are featured both in bead form on a statement necklace and playful bracelets, as well as in large cabochons set in bracelets as well as rings.
The series is interlaced with John Hardy’s signature bamboo motif, carved in metal.
The collection, called Bamboo Moonstone, was inspired by the vision of moonlight shining on waterlilies. The ring in the collection even features a carving of this scene on its underside, a brand signature.
In addition for spring, the iconic silver Dot series has been revived with a bold, enamel update for spring. Coiled, flexible bangles are adorned with bright shades like turquoise and green.
Also new for spring is the Bamboo Wave collection, in which bamboo-style bracelets are twisted for a whimsical take on the most classic of John Hardy’s designs. The brand also is debuting a bamboo open-hoop earring, an entirely new style for John Hardy but one that has been seen in antique Indonesian earrings, the company noted.

The Geometric Dot series, introduced in fall 2016, added deep, ebony wood for spring and minimal cuffs and rings were adorned with jawan, an ancient jewelry technique in which tiny metal balls are fastened to a piece for a textural, granulated effect.
Select pieces of the spring 2017 collection will be available at John Hardy stores, on JohnHardy.com, and at retailers that carry the brand beginning in January, with the rest of the collection rolling out over the spring. The collection starts at $195 and caps off at $39,000.
