Marsala jewels for 2015
As I’m sure you’ve heard, probably multiple times over Pantone named Marsala, a dusky, earthy red color, as its hue of the year for 2015. And while it’s gotten a range of reactions from media, there was a lot of positive feedback coming from the team here, including yours truly.
While I have nothing against Radiant Orchid--in fact, I really liked it--or even Emerald before that, I’m happy not only to see a new color move into the limelight, but also for it to be a hue that I think will be incredibly versatile for design and style.
Marsala looks to me to be a color that many people will be able to wear and could bring a few different gemstones to the forefront, particularly various shades of garnet.
Here are a few gems that fall in the same family as the hue, and of course, 10 great jewels featuring those stones.

These new “FitzRoy the Cat” earring jackets featuring garnets are from designer Wendy Brandes.
