Smyth Jewelers to Open Fourth Location
The family-owned jeweler will open a new showroom in Bel Air, Maryland, this fall.

The family-owned jewelry chain currently operates three stores in Timonium, Annapolis, and Ellicott City.
The jeweler will convert a former Walgreens building into a 12,500 square-foot, two-story, freestanding store. The renovations will cost around $650,000, said the company in a press release.
Smyth Jewelers Chief Financial Officer Bob Yanega said the move to Bel Air was a “natural fit,” with many customers and employees calling the area home.
“We love the Bel Air community and have watched it grow for years,” said Yanega.
The new store, located at 1201 East Churchville Road, is expected to bring 12 to 15 jobs to the area.
“For more than a century, Smyth Jewelers has been honored to help generations of Marylanders celebrate life's most meaningful moments, from engagements and anniversaries to birthdays, milestones, and everything in between,” said the jeweler on its blog.
“Our Bel Air showroom will feature the exceptional selection, personalized service, and trusted experience you've come to expect from Smyth, including engagement rings, fine jewelry, luxury timepieces, custom designs, jewelry repair, and more.”
While the opening is set for the fall, the store’s debut will depend in part on the arrival of its custom showcases, said the jeweler.
Smyth Jewelers will be giving a behind-the-scenes look at the construction process through its social media channels.
