Bonas to Hold Colored Gemstone Tender in Bangkok Next Month
Traditionally a diamond tender house, the company will present about 400 lots at the Jewelry Trade Center from Feb. 18 to 22.
Bangkok—Diamond brokering and consultancy firm Bonas is set to hold a polished colored gemstone tender next month, coinciding with the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair.
The sale is slated for Monday, Feb. 18 to Friday, Feb. 22 and will be held at the Jewelry Trade Center on Silom Road in Bangkok.
At the event, Bonas will present about 400 lots of colored stones comprised of yellow, pink and blue sapphires, star sapphires, rubies, star rubies, emeralds, aquamarine, alexandrite and cat’s eye.
Viewings will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The sale, which will be an online highest bid tender, will close on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 11:00 a.m. Antwerp time (CET)/5:00 p.m. Bangkok time (ICT).
Bonas has been in the diamond business for more than 140 years. The company typically organizes rough diamond sales on behalf of diamond miners and provides a variety of consulting services at every stage of the diamond supply chain.
It began offering colored gemstone tenders two years ago, organizing two prior events, each held during the September gem and jewelry show in Hong Kong.
The company is building its credentials and expertise in the sector and said it is looking to work with more colored gemstone companies as it wants to provide a platform to improve transparency.
Participation in next month’s Bangkok tender is on a registration-only basis. To register or schedule a viewing, contact Henry Lam at henrylam@bonasgroup.com.
