Are Earrings an Overlooked Category? What Retailers Need to Know Now
As the holiday season quickly approaches, consider stocking one category that sometimes gets overlooked: earrings.

Brought To You By Royal Chain
As the holiday season quickly approaches, retailers are scrambling to stock their stores with pieces considered “dependable” sellers: gold chains, diamond pendants, tennis bracelets and gemstone rings. However, one category that sometimes gets overlooked are earrings. Sure, diamond studs and classic hoops are always present, but are retailers capitalizing on how people wear their jewelry today? When it comes to earrings, being too complacent could result in missed sales opportunities.
- Consider a new earring display. If your display just features basic styles, spruce it up with a few modern designs your customers haven’t seen before. If you don’t have a dedicated way to present earrings, consider investing in a top-of-counter or in-case earring display to help draw attention. Royal Chain offers two earring displays, complimentary with a minimum purchase.
- Consider an earring event. Hire a professional ear piercer from your community to offer piercings for a day, or on a recurring schedule. You can find highly qualified professionals in your area on the Association of Professional Piercers website (safepiercing.org). Even better, take advantage of local influencers to collaborate and promote these events with their followers to build deeper relationships in your community.
- Invest in new and unique styles. Here are trends in earrings that you don’t want to miss this season:
Hoops
Door Knockers
Studs
Silver Earrings
Just in time for the holiday season, Royal Chain has released a comprehensive Earring Book dedicated to this category. Explore what’s trending in earrings, with fast turnaround and delivery on orders. Royal Chain has also introduced its new Earring Boxes, compatible with existing displays.
