Detroit Lions’ QB Jared Goff Keeps Going to Jared
The three-time Pro Bowler continues to partner with the retailer, donating to a Detroit nonprofit and giving watches to fans.
Inspired by fans who held up “He went to Jared” signs at Detroit Lions games last season, the retailer and the NFL star first announced their intention to partner in February.
Together, they recognized Detroit-based nonprofit Give Merit, and gifted watches to three superfans on Tuesday.
Goff and Jared presented Give Merit with a $50,000 donation to increase the potential of Detroit’s next generation, said the jewelry retailer.
The nonprofit was highlighted for its FATE program, which aims to help Detroit youth graduate from high school and receive college scholarships.
“Honoring Detroit with Jared Jewelers was a no-brainer. This community and fanbase means so much to me, so I had to go to Jared to close out such an unbelievable season and show my love,” said Goff.
“The Jared brand is iconic, and their heart is huge. We talked a lot about Detroit’s loyalty and how the city is built on the same drive, grit, and determination that my teammates and I take onto the field every Sunday. Give Merit and these fans are so deserving of recognition.”
Also as part of this collaboration in honor of Detroit, three Detroit Lions fans were hand-selected to receive watches from Jared.
They were each gifted a Breitling “Super Chronomat” with the quarterback’s signature on the inside lid of the box.
It is the same watch that Goff gave his eight offensive lineman (five starters, three reserves) when he first signed a partnership with Jared earlier this year.
Goff’s fans play a key role in championing the city and its football team, said the retailer, which is why Jared chose to give back to the community as the two continue to work together.
“Like Goff, we know Detroit is a special place and are humbled by the dedication the community shows every day. It was our shared pleasure to support Give Merit and pay it forward to fans with these Breitling timepieces to match the Detroit offensive line,” said Claudia Cividino, president of Jared.
