35-Carat Lab-Grown Diamond Going on Display in Vegas
Created by Maitri Lab-Grown Diamonds and graded by IGI, it’s slightly bigger than the record-setting lab-grown diamond GIA just examined.

Maitri Lab-Grown Diamonds created the emerald-cut, Type IIa stone using the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. The company, which has offices in Surat, India, and New York, said it took approximately 1,800 hours (75 days) to grow the diamond.
The International Gemological Institute graded it as H color, SI1 clarity.
IGI said the 35-carat stone is the largest polished lab-grown diamond to date, topping the 34.59-carat diamond the Gemological Institute of America detailed in a research note published in early May.
“IGI is proud to certify new benchmarks like this exceptional lab-grown diamond from Maitri,” IGI North America President Avi Levy said. “The increasing sophistication and quality of achievements we’re seeing from the top producers are remarkable.”
The diamond will be on display at Maitri’s booth at JCK, 8123.
