Why some stories go viral and the challenges and opportunities of the diamond market are among those included in the AJS lineup for August.
Atlanta--The Atlanta Jewelry Show has announced its lineup of educational programming for the August show and pre-show conference.
The pre-show conference kicks off Friday, August 11, with the show running from August 12 to 14.
Jonah Berger, professor and best-selling author, will present on August 11 via Skype. His session is titled, “Contagious! Why Things Catch On” and will talk about why some stories and videos go viral.
“I am so pleased with the way the education schedule came together for the August 2017 show,” said Atlanta Jewelry Show Director of Education and Sponsorships Cindy Chandler.
“Kicking off the pre-show conference schedule with Jonah Berger and his presentation via Skype on his book, ‘Contagious! Why Things Catch On,’ really sets the theme for the entire three days of exciting learning opportunities.”
After that, Daniel Pink will be on hand for two-part workshops focused on marketing and sales strategies based on his book “To Sell is Human.”
Another highlight from the program is “The Diamond Power Panel,” taking place on Saturday, August 12. Led by Diamond Council of America President Terry Chandler, the panel will consist of several experts, including Ronnie VanderLinden, president and CFO of Diamond Manufacturers & Importers Association of America; Stanley Zale, vice president of diamonds at Stuller; Donnie Thompson, owner of Windsor Jewelers; and James Dimick, director of business development for AGS Labs.
The following day, Sunday, August 13, will feature sessions by body language expert Patti Wood and a presentation by Kyle Nichols and Billy Mitchel on “Inbound Marketing for Jewelry Retailers.”
A variety of other presentations, panels and show floor “Learning Lab” sessions will cover topics like estate and antique jewelry, email and social media strategy, marketing, sales and bench jewelry techniques.
Stuller, Synchrony Financial and the Diamond Council of America are sponsors for the August educational program, which is expected to see more than 1,000 attendees.
