CVC Stones Partners with Venyx on Zodiac Collection
The jewelry brand famous for bejeweling pebbles with diamonds has launched a limited-edition collection with Venyx.

New York--Two young, much-buzzed-about jewelry brands have joined forces for a limited-edition zodiac-themed collection.
Venyx for CVC Stones combines the latter’s pebble-based pieces with the former’s penchant for zodiac medallions and vibrant color.
“I hadn’t introduced color before to any of our pieces,” said Charlie de Viel Castel of CVC Stones. “We had done a couple of custom-based pieces with color--rubies, for example. We knew we were going to work with white [pebbles], and we knew that we wanted each one to be the colors of the month for each zodiac sign.”
CVC Stones has made its mark bejeweling pebbles with diamonds. The result is both sophisticated and organic.
The Venyx for CVC Stones collection adorns the pebbles with diamonds or colored gemstones in the shape of the constellation relating to each zodiac sign.
Three variations are offered for each sign: colored stones on a white pebble, white diamonds on a white pebble, or CVC Stones’ classic combination of white diamonds on a dark pebble.
As with all of CVC Stones jewelry, each limited-edition piece is one-of-a-kind due to the natural variation of the pebbles.
Viel Castel found the process of collaboration to be a natural one, as it was born out of a friendship with Venyx designer Eugenie Niarchos.
“I’ve known Eugenie sort of all my life. She grew up in Paris like I did,” he explained. “When I decided to do CVC Stones she was one of the few people I decided to talk to about the project as I was doing it, and she was very supportive.”
Working with Niarchos, the Venyx for CVC Stones project took about six months from conception to final product.
“We would work very closely together, with her team and myself, and we did quite a few samples back and forth,” said Viel Castel.
Viel Castel, whose other profession is that of an investor, launched CVC Stones in 2015 on Moda Operandi.
“It took me about two years to go from the moment I had the idea, to the moment I actually had a product because I didn’t have a background in the jewelry business, so I had to sort of learn and do trial and error for quite a while until I could figure out how to do it the way I wanted to,” he said. “Then when we had a final product I gave a piece to every woman in my family.”
Shortly
Viel Castel says he is open to future collaborations.
“I really enjoyed the collaboration so I would like to work with other people down the road, maybe a sculptor and maybe other designers or people who want to work with us.”
The collection is priced from $3,080 to $4,000 retail, and is available to purchase at Barneys New York, The Apartment by The Line - New York, Just One Eye and CVC-Stones.com.
