Nanis Brings a New Palette to ‘Ipanema’
A new edition of the Italian brand’s “Ipanema” collection has debuted with gemstones that evoke Brazil’s breathtaking views.

Expanding on the collection that first debuted in 2013 and has continued to explore different color stories over the years, it now features turquoise amazonite, pink jade, rutilated quartz, and mother-of-pearl with diamond accents in 18-karat yellow gold.
Ipanema is a colorful ode to the light and vitality of Brazil, Nanis said, using gemstones to evoke the country’s breathtaking views.
The beaches at Ipanema, sunsets of Rio de Janeiro, and golden dunes of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park are expressed through three categories—“Maré,” “Sol,” and “Duna.”
The Maré designs combine turquoise amazonite, mother-of-pearl, and rutilated quartz in triplets that dance with transparencies akin to the water on the coast of Ipanema.
Sol echoes how the sunset in Rio de Janeiro shines on the skin with pink jade, mother-of-pearl, and rutilated quartz triplets.
Duna expresses the poetry of wind and sun shaping sand landscapes at Lençóis Maranhenses, said Nanis, through doublets of mother-of-pearl and rutilated quartz.
“With Ipanema, we wanted to express the sunny, material soul of Brazil in a colorful story that narrates emotion, textures, and interplays of light,” said Laura Bicego, co-founder and designer of Nanis.
“Natural gemstones, with their perfect imperfections—inclusions, rutiles, veining—become traces of authenticity, small marks of a character that makes each creation unique, just like the person who wears it.”
The new edition of the Ipanema collection is a fresh take on a signature collection for the brand, debuting new designs and revisiting silhouettes from the original launch.
Across its about 80 new pieces, there are two souls that coexist in perfect harmony, Nanis said when referencing the minimalist and bold offerings in the collection.
There are pieces like the “Maré” necklace that feature clean lines and elegant details, contrasting with ones like the “Maré” bangle that showcases sculptural volumes and tactile surfaces.
The Ipanema collection relaunch retails from $1,200 to $37,000.
It is available on the Nanis website.
It will also soon be available at the brand’s newly opened location in Mykonos, Greece, Nanis’ first mono-brand boutique.
